“til Late” is the B side of T. Nguyen’s forthcoming vinyl LP. The single starts with an ominous soft high pitch strings section and a firm kick drum over a bouncy Chicago House style bassline. Textures of dynamic horns, jazzy hats and percussion stream in and out of the song mirroring many late nights out in New York City.
The title of the track foreshadows parties with no end time, inferring a night going past 4am (when parties legally end in New York) and people dancing to the sunrise. The idea of a late night party with no end time lets everyone come at any given time of the day or night. The term gives permission for not only the DJ, but the people making the party to determine the course of the night through recklessness or caution.
During 2020, these types of parties dissipated until slowly during the late summer, quarantine party goers let loose, and parties slowly arrived during the early mornings hours by docks, warehouses, on bridges of Brooklyn, New York.
Track 2 runs four and half minutes long bringing out the pure essence and qualities of the track for common radio and playlist consumption.
The “Better late than never Remix” takes the same bassline, with a little bit more grit and rides with shuffled high hats and percussions. The string sections give melodies and tones while slowly opening up the listener to a warehouse driven kick drum that is meant to be played as an injection, giving a second wave of energy to the crowd allowing the dance to go on ’til Late.
We are teaming up with Diggers Factory in France to make a limited run of 200 pressings of the LP. To help support the LP, we are digitally releasing this single with two additional tracks.
