It is an exact mirror-image of the final record — not meant to be played, but to produce the stampers that physically press grooves into vinyl under hydraulic pressure.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eCreating a mother involves electroplating: a multi-step chemical process using silver and nickel baths. For this release, a 2-step process was used — the lacquer master was plated to create the father, which was then plated to create these mothers.
