Built from one SH-4d session into four finished release cuts.
SH4D started on the SH-4d and was built out from a 16-bar drum loop before being recorded into Ableton and finished into a four-version release package.
Across those versions, the objective stayed the same: keep the groove, tighten the low end, reduce what was getting in the way, and bring the record into a finished release state without flattening what made it distinct in the first place.
The hardware version carried more grime and noise. The Ableton finish cleaned it up, locked the kick-and-bass relationship, and kept the arrangement narrow on purpose: drums, bass, select instrumentation, and a late vocal decision that changed the final shape of the record without changing its center.
